Glenluce is a large and attractive rural village in the council area of Dumfries and Galloway, in south-western Scotland. It is situated between the towns of Stranraer and Newton Stewart in the traditional county of Wigtownshire. The substantial ruin of the 12th century Glenluce Abbey is located on the outskirts of the village.
This is a traditional and welcoming village, centred around a busy main street, with good amenities, several traditional Scottish pubs, and a good choice of holiday accommodation. The village is notable for its annual vehicle festival, which is held each September, at Glenluce park, where people come to display anything from vintage tractors to the most recent cars.
