Hope Valley is a river valley and postal address of a rural area around the village of Hope, in the Peak District National Park of Derbyshire, in central England.
The river of the Hope Valley changes its name times along its course through the valley. It begins at Mam Torat, in Castleton, and can be traced along a series of pleasant walking routes for around 8 miles, through to Hope, where it converges with the River Noe, which in turn joins the River Derwent. At this point the valley is technically the Derwent Valley, although still referred to as "Hope Valley".
The area is a popular tourist spot, and the neighbouring village of Castleton can get extremely busy as one of the "honeypot" locations of the Peaks. The Hope Valley has many other villages, to choose from, however, each with its own character and advantages to particular tastes.
