Newent, in Gloucestershire is a small market town closely neighbouring Gloucester City, on the northern edge of the Forest of Dean. The town features a half-timbered market house, which is very attractive focal point of the high street. There are also several other houses of historical nature, as well as The Shambles — a replica of a 19th century street that has recently been adapted for the working use of real local trade shops. Other Newent landmarks include a large Georgian house, named "Devonia", the National Birds of Prey Centre, and The Three Choirs vineyard.
With ample shopping prospects, a traditional atmosphere and so much to see and do in central Hertfordshire, Newent offers an ideal base from which to relax and enjoy a well-needed break.
