Wigston (also previously known as Wigston Magna, Wigston Two Steeples, Great Wigston and Wigston Parva), is a town in the central English county of Leicestershire, neighbouring the county town, Leicester.
The town is know to have been in existance by at least the Norman period, and by the Middle Ages it was known as Wigston Two Spires because of its two churches there, the All Saints and St. Wistans, the latter of which gained its name as one of the places where the body of St Wistan on its procession for burial.
Attractions in the area include the Framework Knitting Museum, Leicester Racecourse, the National Space Centre, Gorse Hill City Farm, the Great Central Railway, and Stanford Hall.
