Horley is a town in Surrey, neighbouring Gatwick Airport, in England. It neighbours the twin towns of Reigate and Redhill and boasts very fast train links to London. Horley was once a manor of the Benedictine Abbey of St Peter at Chertsey, until the dissolution of the monasteries in 1539. A map of the former manor can be seen at the Guildhall in London. Many of the early buildings are still standing.
The town is home to the Archway Theatre, which is Britain's last "under the arches" theatre, situated beneath the arches of the Victoria Road railway bridge. It features a bar, an auditorium, a studio theatre, several rehearsal rooms, and hosts 10 full productions annually.
The Tilgate Park Nature Centre and the Ifield Watermill are two very popular local attractions, while the town boasts good shopping prospects, numerous pubs and restaurants as well as a choice of quality accommodation from which visitors can enjoy their explorations of the region as a whole. Regional attractions include Arundel Castle, the Bluebell Railway, Hever Castle, and the Denbies Wine Estate Dorking.
