Hungerford is a market town in Berkshire, England, near Newbury. It is the westernmost town in Berkshire, on the Wiltshire border; and enjoys a scenic and well-linked location on the River Dun in the Kennet Valley. This location is also within the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, by Walbury Hull, the highest point in the South East of England.
Wilton Windmill, Littlecote House, Freeman's Marsh, and Walbury Hill are popular local attractions, along with the Kennet and Avon Canal, which flows through the town creating a very pleasant walking route and haven for barge holiday makers seeking rest and refreshment at one of the various pubs and restaurants of the town.
