Waterbeck is a pretty agricultural village in the southern Scotland council area of Dumfries and Galloway. It is situated in a rural location, within close proximity to the Solway Firth, as well as the Galloway Forest Park, and Loch Ken, while being situated between the historic town of Castle Douglas and the English town of Carlisle.
The village is known for its dramatic views, for which its residents are envied, and for its cheerful and welcoming community. Its facilities are quite basic but are supported by the large number of towns and villages in the local area, and by the countless reputable pub-restaurants to be found along the various scenic county walks.
